Good Shepherd Schools
are the educational ministry work
of Dayspring International in India.
Everyone knows education is key to development in every regard. There are no questions there. So lets stop talking about the obvious need and let’s hear a wonderful story of a transformed life.
Meet Sebi, a playful 4 year old. We think he’s 4, but we can't be sure. You see, Sebi’s parents are gone. He’s not really an orphan because other family came in to help, but no one knows much about his history. So Sebi is behind in a lot of ways. Sebi lives in a very poor slum area where going to school wasn't possible. Not until a Good Shepherd School was built right in the middle of the slum.
We might judge the look of this school and say it’s not up to our standards. But when you live in a slum and there is no hope of an education, you don’t care what the school looks like, all you care is that you are learning how to read and write. And now, just maybe, you have a way out of slum into a life were you can earn a living.
Sebi is quite the little leader of his group. Always first, always jumping in, Always reaching out a hand to learn and explore. Don't underestimate how much having a neighborhood school has changed Sebi’s life and how much it is changing the lives of all the other slum children. This one school, will change the lives of hundreds of children. What an incredible result of this ministry of education.
The goal of Dayspring International’s Good Shepherd community work is to educate, aid, help, inspire, uplift and minister to the whole person; making disciples through loving them in mind, body and spirit.
